Volution

Transition, transformation, biotechnical (r)evolution...

Bodies are constantly gradually shifting and changing: experiencing a range of temporalities and interfacing with their socio-technical environments in ways that continuously disrupt any supposed boundaries between biology and technology.  "Organic" parametric altering curves give way to "machinic" hard lines and then back again.  Inspired by the work of Jennifer Townley, this visualization further dramatizes a techno-material tension by projecting this dynamic diagram at a scale that matches plans for a staggering kinetic sculpture.

Landon Goldberg studies architecture in Portland, Oregon, USA.  He designs and constructs large-scale sculptures and revels in the spectacular and absurd.

Jess Thompson is a creative producer at The Institute for Joyful Nihilism and a nurse living and working in Oakland, California, USA.
